Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman in business. Buss is the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently is the president of the organization. Buss is a California native who grew in an affluent family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the manager of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. Following the divorce of her parents in 1972 She began feeling as if she was abandoned. At 19 years old, she began working for the family business as the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She first served as vice-president for the Lakers prior to taking over the presidency of the Great Western Forum. Buss inherited Lakers ownership Lakers from her father in the year 2013. Five siblings of hers inherited it through a family estate trust. She took on the role as president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss owns a co-owned business Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional business based out of Los Angeles.
